Dr. Laraine Kaizer-Viazovtsev was born in Peoria, IL where she earned
her Bachelor of Music
Degree in 1998 majoring in violin performance from
Bradley University studying with Marcia
Henry. In 2000 she graduated
from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN as a violin
performance major
violin pedagogy minor studying with Mauricio Fuks. She received her
Doctorate of Musical Arts Diploma in 2004 with the same major and minor
concentrations
from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University
of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, OH
studying with Kurt Sassmannshaus.
Currently Laraine is the assistant principal second
violinist in the Las Vegas Philharmonic, a violinist in the Celine Dion show, a free lance
'strolling violinist,' specializing in a wide variety of styles, a free lance visual artist, a
chamber music coach and private teacher at the Nevada School of the Arts, Para-
Professional at Las Vegas Academy, a member of the Bishr Hijazi Arabic Ensemble, and a
group performing Alex Clements' jazz compositions in an Afro Cuban Style, and a guest
artist with Boxhead Ensemble performing original improvised music.
In 2004 she launched a visual arts career with her paintings.
She had some drawing lessons in high school (1994) with artist Carol Spengel, and an introduction to oils
class in 2004 at UC. Otherwise her art training was hours of drawing for fun since an early age.
Laraine is currently a violinist in the Las Vegas Philharmonic, free lance ‘strolling’ violinist, Chamber Music
Program Coordinator at the Nevada School of the Arts and part-time violin instructor at UNLV in Las
Vegas, NV.
Laraine's specialty is improvising in a wide variety of styles and creating "arrangements" on the spot for
recordings using multiple tracks. Recent projects for producer and musician
Michael Krasner include the albums of Try Me Bicycle and Simon Joyner as well as the movie sound
tracks of Jean Claude Van-Damme's latest installment : "Universal Soldier 3, Regeneration," Braden King's
new film: "Here" and a new PBS documentary: "People of the Seal."
